Der Direktor dieser Schule ist ein Bär namens Monokuma, der den Schülern erklärt, dass sie jemanden umbringen müssen, um diese spezielle Schule abschließen zu können. Der einzige Weg, dieses Ziel zu erreichen, ist, einen Klassenkameraden unbemerkt umzubringen. Wenn andere Mitschüler den Mörder allerdings fassen können, wird der Mörder der einzige sein, der stirbt.
