Um die Welt zu retten, muss er die Geister töten ... oder küssen! Der scheinbar gewöhnliche Oberschüler Shido Itsuka trifft während eines Weltraumbebens auf ein mysteriöses Mädchen. Sie gehört zu den "Geistern", die durch ihre Ankunft auf der Erde zerstörerische Raumbeben auslösen, jene Beben, die vor 30 Jahren mehr als 150 Millionen Menschen in Eurasien das Leben kostete. Unmittelbar nach Shidos Begegnung mit dem mysteriösen Geist treffen Mecha- Kämpferinnen ein, die das Mädchen unter Beschuss nehmen. Inmitten des Kampfes wird Shido von der Kommandantin des hochentwickelten Luftschiffes der Geheimorganisation "Ratatoskr" gerettet. An Bord des Schiffes wartet eine weitere Überraschung auf ihn: Shido wird rekrutiert, die Geistermädchen zu bekämpfen und die Menschheit so vor der Vernichtung zu bewahren. Doch es gibt einen Haken: Um die Kräfte eines Geistes zu versiegeln, muss er sie dazu bringen, sich in ihn zu verlieben ...!
