Mit der Entdeckung der Dimension W kann die Menschheit im Jahr 2072 auf unendliche Energiereserven zugreifen. Doch erst durch Professor Yurizakis Erfindung elektromagnetischer Spulen, den sogenannten Coils, wird diese nutzbar. Aber auch das Geschäft mit illegalen Coils, die in Waffen und Robotern unkontrollierbar Energie freisetzen, boomt. Grausige Unfälle sind die Folge. Daher werden Collectors beauftragt, diese nicht genehmigten Spulen aufzuspüren. Einer von ihnen ist der wortkarge Einzelgänger Kyoma Mabuchi, der die Nutzung jeglicher coilbetriebener Technik ablehnt. Ausgerechnet er bekommt als neue Partnerin das Robotermädchen Mira an die Seite gestellt, das Geniestück Yurizakis. Neben ihrer gemeinsamen Arbeit sucht Kyoma nach seiner Vergangenheit und Mira nach dem Sinn ihres Daseins. Noch ahnen sie nicht, wie eng beides miteinander verbunden ist ...
