Als Nene Nanakorobi, ein typisches kybernetisch verbessertes Mädchen von neben an, zu ihrer Tante auf die*Inselmetropole Cenancle zieht, ahnt sie noch nicht, was dort auf sie wartet. Durch eine zufällige Begegnung wird ihr Schicksal mit denen der superreichen Erfinderin Uzal Delilah und ihrer liebenswerten, aber mürrischen Gefährtin Clarion, die zufälligerweise genau wie Nene ein Cyborg ist, ineinander verflochten.
Nene ist begeistert eine Freundin gefunden zu haben, doch hinter Uzal und Clarion, sowie der Insel Cenancle selbst, verbirgt sich mehr als man auf Anhieb erkennen kann. Das wird deutlich, als die Stadt von einem Terroristen mit Superkräften bedroht*wird und Uzal behauptet*es gäbe nur einen Weg eine Katastrophe zu verhindern: Nene muss sich mit Clarion verbünden und gemeinsam müssen sie ihre Kräfte nutzen, um die Gefahr abzuwehren ‒ Kräfte von denen Nene nicht einmal wusste, dass sie sie besaß!
