Der vierjährige Kun (Stimme im Original: Moka Kamishiraishi) ist ein kleiner, glücklicher Junge doch hadert er damit, sich mit der Ankunft einer kleinen Schwester Mirai (Haru Kuroki) in der Familie anzufreunden. Seine kleine Schwester bekommt nun die ungeteilte Aufmerksamkeit seiner Eltern. Kun wird eifersüchtig und zieht sich immer weiter zurück. Doch dann nehmen die Dinge eine magische Wendung, als er im Hinterhof, in den er sich gerne zurückzieht, einen mysteriösen Garten entdeckt, der ihm erlaubt, in die Zeit zurückzureisen. Hier trifft er auf seine Mutter als kleines Mädchen, seinen Urgrossvater als jungen Mann und seine kleine Schwester als Jugendliche und sieht die Dinge bald aus einer anderen Perspektive ...
