Die Mädchen gehören zu den Wenigen, die sich in diesem verstrahlten Gebiet frei bewegen können, denn sie sind Teil einer militärischen Sondereinheit und wurden mittels genetischer Manipulation resistent gegen die Radioaktivität gemacht, wurden also eigens für diese Mission erschaffen.
